NYSC Service in Ogbomoso town

Welcome to Ogbomoso. Ogbomoso for long has received NYSC corps members. The town has a serene environment which comprises of six local government, which are: Orire, Ogoluwa, Surulere, Lautech, Ogbomoso South and Ogbomoso North.
NYSC receives corpers yearly at the Local Government Secretariat, Kinnira and also at Oja-Igbo Soun town hall. Corps members are welcomed and being enlightened about certain issues pertaining their primary place of assignment(PPA) and the land in which they reside.
The CDS (Community Development Service) meetings, an essential aspect of the service scheme are held every Thursday of which the general meeting holds twice a month or more. The frequency of general meetings depends on directives by the Local Government Chairman. The venue for the general meeting is the Soun town hall, Oja-Igbo. Documentation as regards to payment voucher (pv) signing is done at the beginning of a new month to enable corps members get their monthly allowances. Also, the use of biometrics is required to ensure integrity. Apart from the pv signing, other issues can be discussed with regards to the corps members. A stipulated time is always given, which is usually 9am.
CDS groups: Each Corp member is assigned to a group, for the betterment of the community such as the, editorial group, federal road safety, legal aid, environmental, education and so on. Using these groups, corpers have contributed their quota to their community either through enlightenment or through community services. Each CDS group appoints a body of executives.
Skill Acquisition & Entrepreneurial Development. (SAED): Is a compulsory program created by the NYSC to enable corps members develop their skills and become entrepreneurs. Certified facilitators act as trainers to corps members. Skills covered include hair dressing, fashion and design, interior decoration, skin care and so much more.
